Now that is a great question! In general ice is always safer as it will decrease inflammation and nerve firing and therefore decrease pain. Heat on the other hand increases circulation which on the surface sounds like a good thing, but due to the increased capillary permeability, heat can increase swelling and as a result increase pain. If no inflammation is present such as with tight muscles heat is good to loosen things up. Clear as mud? If in doubt use Ice!

Well I tell children that come in to the clinic that it is popcorn! But, I guess you are not buying that one are you? Seriously, the noise is caused by a release of nitrogen gas from the fluid in the joints. It’s similar to when you open a can of fizzy drink.

Let me start by saying that the purpose of colonics is to remove waste from the colon. Constipation is a condition where there is too much waste in the colon so colonics are the perfect solution for a problem that so many people struggle with. Colonics are very effective in resolving constipation and the associated discomfort and bloating by gently washing out the waste and stimulating the peristalsis (muscle contractions that push the waste out). If you suffer from constipation this could be just what you’ve been looking for.
